I have undertaken a nice trip to Tirumala yesterday, the 19th of January, 2010 from Chennai. I took a direct bus from CMBT, Koyambedu from Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. It took nearly five hours for me to reach Tirumala, where “Lord Balaji” resides. I have gone to the Holy Tank at Sri Varahar Sannadhi and took bath. Then, I had the Darshan of Lod Varaha and offer my prayers. It is very essential that before we have the Darshan of Lord Venkateshwara, wed should have offered our prayers to Lord Varaha. This has been the tradition and Customs for several decades being followed by all. Since TTD Authorities have recently introduced a system called “Seekra Darshan” whereby we can get Rs.300 Tickets at Vaikuntam Complex and can proceed for Darshan immediately, without standing in the que or waite for several hours, I utilised the opportunity  and bought the above tickets for quick darshan. I was able to complete my Darshan in less than one hour.

1. We should not have undue fancy and attachment to particular shares since that may lead to loosing of profit for not having disposed of at the opportune time.

2.  Do not put your whole investment in selective sector. There are various sectors like cement, sugar, steel, pharma, power, communications, etc. We shall invest in various sectors and spread our risk, keeping in mind the favoured sector at the time of investment and make the maximum investment in that sector for a short period.

3. At present, Information Technology and Communications sector are the most favoured ones. In I.T. Sector, Companies like HCL, TCS,  Wipro, deserve our attention.

4. At present, it is desirable to stay away from investing in oil companies such as HPCL,IOC, BPL, and ONGC since they are facing problems of costlier raw materials and increased costs. But at the same time, companies like Reliance Petroleum, Reliance Energy etc. are worth investments.

Let us go through the following points before choosing to invest in shares.

1. Before choosing to invest, let us decide as to whether we would like to hold the investment in shares for short term, medium term or long term. Normally short term is for a period of two to three months, medium term is for a period of six months to twelve months and long term is for a period of one year and above.

2. Let us not invest in high priced shares since they are volatile in nature and we cannot bear the risk of high fluctuations. If we go for small value shares, we can invest in large quantity and even if there is a small increase in its value, we can offload immediately and book profit. Alternatively, we can partially book profit if the shares are worth holding.

There are many mantras. Mantra means one which protects those who recite. “Ugram Veeram MahaVishnum Jwalantham Sarvathomugam Nrisimham Beeshanam Bhadhram Mrithyu Mrithyum Namamyagam”.  In this Manthra, there are twelve words. This Mantra is in anushtub chandhas and contains 32 aksharas. For Lord Nrisimha there are various Mantras out of which “Shri Manthrarajan” which is called “Shri Nrisimha anushtub Mantra” is the best and incomparable. Lord Shiva has done the Manthraraja padha Sthothram with the help of the above Nrisimha Manthra. This Sthothra has been unanimously accepted by all.  We cannot write Pala Sruthi for this Sloga because you can get everything by reciting this Sloga and there is nothing left which cannot be got by reciting this Sloga.

People are advised to recite this Sloga at least three times a day namely, morning, afternoon and evening. One can also recite in times of distress, deep sorrow, depression, illhealth, etc.For Lord Nrisimha, there is “No tomorrow” and He will come to our rescue immediately.

In this Kali Yuga, the easiest way to reach God is Nama Sangirtana. As being followed by billions of people all over the world, Lord Vishnu is the Supreme Lord. Hence reciting His Names will wipe out all our sins in our previous births as well as our present births. It contains Namas which are disguised as Mantras and hence it is desirable to chant after taking bath.

It is the conversation between Bhishma and Yudistira wherein the latter asked six questions and the former confirmed that Lord Vishnu is the Supreme Deity by answering his questions. This conversation took place in Mahabharata in Anushasanika parva.

Bhagavat Gita is given by Lord Krishna and Shri Vishnu Sahasranama was given by Bhishma under the supervision of Lord Krishna who had listened along with the Pandavas and vaious rishies and had given His concurrence. Hence one can realise the importance of Vishnu Sahasranama.
