grand parents

grand parents

Most of us remember the time when we were kids and awaiting the visit of our grandparents, the sweets and gifts they would bring and all the bed time stories and songs. They would pamper us in ways our parents never did and just spoil us in every way. That is atleast until the teenage shift. Then we do not want them pampering us in front of our friends and we are even ashamed of them. The cause well I guess is Grandparents are “Uncool” for our peers and now all grown up we do not need them. The next stage in our life is when we cross our teens, and for grandparents it goes from bad to worse. We do not agree with their old age principles and we keep telling them to mind their own business and not interfere with our lives. Are we not great hypocrites?? It is true in most cases that most of the older generation are not in tune to the current times but give them a break. Everyone sticks on to their beliefs and we can’t try to change it.We should respect them and we might even learn some interesting gyan. The bottom line is you will know how well you have treated your grandparents only when you have grandkids :)

I have undertaken a nice trip to Tirumala yesterday, the 19th of January, 2010 from Chennai. I took a direct bus from CMBT, Koyambedu from Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. It took nearly five hours for me to reach Tirumala, where “Lord Balaji” resides. I have gone to the Holy Tank at Sri Varahar Sannadhi and took bath. Then, I had the Darshan of Lod Varaha and offer my prayers. It is very essential that before we have the Darshan of Lord Venkateshwara, wed should have offered our prayers to Lord Varaha. This has been the tradition and Customs for several decades being followed by all. Since TTD Authorities have recently introduced a system called “Seekra Darshan” whereby we can get Rs.300 Tickets at Vaikuntam Complex and can proceed for Darshan immediately, without standing in the que or waite for several hours, I utilised the opportunity  and bought the above tickets for quick darshan. I was able to complete my Darshan in less than one hour.
